Encouraged Again :)

It's funny what just a few days, a small change in circumstances, and of course prayers offered to our Savior by loved ones on our behalf can do for one's outlook, isn't it?

Hully is back to normal. Tripoli has not run a fever, has acted fine, and his wound hasn't smelled, so we opted for antibiotics in the wound only, not systemic shots. He seems to be doing really well and even likes me again!

David mowed more of the property the other day. The goats and I walked the freshly mowed land afterward, and had loads of fun. It's always nice to go "exploring" familiar territory that has been hidden a while. There is always something that God has changed and it's exciting to see His hand in our little piece of creation. It's kind of like visiting my sister-in-law's house and seeing what new things she's done to decorate her house! Always fun and interesting! :) As David gets more and more comfortable with his tractor, he's able to do more and more on the land, and it's such a joy to see the fruit of his labor as well.

Speaking of my sister-in-law's house... we celebrated Thanksgiving there yesterday. I am so thankful that it was her year to prepare the food and host us (we trade years) and that she's such a fabulous cook! We really enjoyed ourselves. I also pestered everyone to get a better idea of what to buy for Christmas presents. Some I have figured out... some I'm still thinking upon. And yes, there were some new decorating changes, and as always, beautiful additions. :)

Shiphrah and I are considering going to see the Nutcracker as a mother-daughter outing next month. I mentioned either that to her, or maybe just going for lunch and buying her a pretty dress. Smart girl, she wants to do both!

Samuel is doing well with violin. We've been a bit lax about practice lately. If we can get Long Long Ago down really well by next week, then he will get to start learning Allegro. That will put him half-way through the first book. I'm a little nervous about Allegro, and if you know much about music, you can probably guess that what makes me nervous is that it is fast! In addition to that, the instructor wrote down the fingering to Amazing Grace for me, so we can learn that at our leisure. Samuel wants to just get down what he's working on right now, but I've tackled it a bit. It's fun!

Today we think we'll take the kids back over to David's sister's house and head out to the new James Bond movie. Afternoon dates are good for me because I have a better chance of staying awake! :) The kids want to go back and finish watching the movie they started last night, Beauty & The Beast. I'm thankful that we get to go out from time to time and that they are happy to babysit!

I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dan, I don't know if you know, but Bill's grandfather was also named Samuel Thomas Hallman. He was a lutheran minister by vocation and a luthier (violin maker) by avocation. :) We have a violin that he made and gave to his son, Elmer Berley Hallman. That in turn was given to Bill, and now to David. It needs about $500 worth of repair work, but one day we hope to have it fixed and for Samuel to be able to play it. :)
