Discouraged

Well, I went out to feed the animals this morning and discovered that Hully still has loose stools and Tripoli has white oozy stuff from his wound. (sigh) I called the vet, and she advised me to watch Hully--if she's eating, drinking, and otherwise acting normally, it may just take about 2 weeks for everything to run its course. Fun. For Tripoli, I have penicillin, which I'm supposed to give him twice a day. 4 cc shots each time with a rather large (18 guage) needle because it's kind of thick. And subcutaneous in his neck, not his armpit. More fun. In addition to that, I need to really clean his wound thoroughly and shoot a little penicillin into his sinus cavity. Even better. I knew farming would have it's gross and stressful moments. I just expected not to encounter them yet. It's rainy today and I really want to just crawl under the covers. Prayer would be a really good thing right now.
