Hi all! It may have been less than a week, but it feels like forever! Our goats will come home today after church. The two-legged kids have come down with a cold, so it may just be David that gets to go to church this morning. Maybe Samuel, depending on how he feels when he wakes up.
After the goats, we'll pick up the dogs! I can't believe they'll all be here soon! All but one buckling, who isn't weaned yet. And the chickens. They won't hatch until July 30th. (I'm getting 25 Ameraucanas--blue and green egg layers!)
So this week has been a busy week of barn and fence building. We had great help yesterday (the Butlers) and Wednesday (the Thackers). Thanks to you all!!!! The rest of the siding is cut and ready to put up. We have a great start on the fence. I've got a lead on some good, inexpensive alfalfa hay, too, which is exciting. I never thought I would say that hay could be exciting!
I look forward to having the use of my entire driveway soon! Maybe I can build a milkstand with the leftover lumber... Then, with the itty bitty scraps, we may have to have a campfire/hotdog roast/barn completion party! I'm not announcing anything, just thinking out loud, errr in print. I'll consult with David before announcing anything like that. But it would be a great opportunity for everyone to come meet the goats! :)
I see daylight coming over the ridge, so that means I get to go look at the work of our hands. If anyone needs me, I'm in the barn!
Pictures? Well, it's so close, I think you'll have to wait until it's complete. Then I'll do pictures. Unless the babies are so cute today that I can't resist. :)
