A different Jack

The Apples are going to the beach, and while I'm a little envious, we have the great privilege of watching their dog, Jack. You laugh, but there's a story behind that...

Last week, when the kids and I were driving home from their house after an afternoon in the pool, they were telling me how they'd like a little house dog. Just Like Jack. I told them that we were going to be keeping Jack for a while when the Apples go on vacation. There were cheers of excitement! After the initial hoopla, Samuel says to me, "Isn't that kind of them to let us keep him while they're gone?" Kids have such a funny way of seeing things, sometimes! :)

So Jack came over yesterday, and there has been no end to the fun with him! First, all the kids had to climb in the crate with him. (I do have a picture, I'll share later!) Then they had to feed him umpteen bazillion dog treats. Last night, Samuel & Shiphrah willingly slept in Shiphrah's bed (as opposed to ours!) with Jack's dog bed at their feet! Hmmm... suddenly they're not arguing over sleeping next to mommy, but a dog. I feel cheated! Then again, we might have to buy 3 indoor dogs if that's what it will take for David and I to get to sleep next to each other without a fight from the kids from now on! (I know what you're thinking. That's not why there hasn't been another little Hallman lately! I'm not going there--none of your business! :)

Samuel is out walking Jack now. Jack and our dogs--Snow White & Cinder Ella have been conversing quite a bit... Arf. WOOF! Arf. WOOF WOOF! Arfarfarfarfarf! WOOFWOOFWOOFWOOF! I hope they get whateveritis sorted out between them soon! Pluto is still trying to maintain that this is his house, but he is beginning to wonder.
