Projects

After getting the farm house as complete as it's going to get for a little while, we haven't stopped doing projects, both here and .... at friends' houses!  The above photo is from my friend Ann's house.  I went to help her organize her homeschool room and we soon found ourselves at Lowe's (with 7 kiddos!) buying lumber, shelf supports, a shelf...  So rather than stacking books and crayons, I helped her build a place to stack her books and crayons!  My husband came over and found Ann & I outside with power tools and Ann's husband Mark standing back and giggling at us.  David joined the fun, helping to secure the shelf at the top of the photo, since the stud finder lied to me!
David built a fence to go around our chicken feeder in the field so I can finally close the doe barn at the back and let the bucks into the doe pen and the does out to free range.  We'll be excited to see how that works out tomorrow!
And I built a second milkstand.  Right now, I'm only using one, but in the spring, I can forsee needing two and now was as good a time as any to build!

There are still more projects to complete.  I need to stain and polyurethane our bedroom door so David can install it.  David needs to do Shiphrah's bedroom floor so we can move the girl furniture back into the girl bedroom, and the toys in the respective kiddos' rooms.  We need to install the new light fixture for the dining room that I found on clearance.  We started to build desks at Ann's house, too, but David thought we were doing it wrong, so we brought home all the materials for him to finish it right.  :)  And when the paydays catch up to the projects, we need to buy the lumber to make the shelving at the end of Lisa's dishwasher, the trim for her beadboard, threshold for her bedroom, and go put up the rest of the quarter round as well.  And caulk around the kitchen sink, the toilet, and paint all the exterior door frames that are only primed.  And we need to order home school curriculum for the next school year and get organize to start that!  Whew!  We will be ready for the new school year to begin so that we can rest!
