Yesterday, we intended to work on a fence, but with the ground so wet, it would have been a sticky mess. We did have unexpected visitors and help around here yesterday with other things, and it was a nice surprise!
Someone put a post on Freecycle that they wanted old junk to haul off. I responded that we have scrap metal if someone is willing to take it, they can have whatever the salvage yard will give for it. These folks cleaned up a large portion of a junk pile we found in the woods (between our house and my mom's house) and intend to be back for the rest of it. What a help! That's a job that needs to get done before we fence that part of the woods off for the goats, so we're really thankful!
Then, the man who hunts in our woods (behind my mom's house--not where we want to put goats!) came and asked if he could clear a better path into the woods. Why, Sure! He and his son spent a couple hours back there with a chainsaw clearing aside small trees and brush, and it looks great! David could bushhog the trail now. Samuel and I hiked it yesterday!
Well, off to feed the barn animals before getting everyone dolled up for church!

Today, I saw them drive off with two truckloads of scrap metal! I can't wait to go peek in the woods! Does anyone have an interesting use for old tires?
