Quick update: Wednesday we had music lessons--Samuel gets to start learning "O Come Little Children"! I can't believe it's moving so quickly now--after 6 months of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! He needs to continue to work on his posture (head straight) and not getting sloppy with his bow.
Shiphrah is still on her Twinkle variations. It is slow. I can finally tell her which finger instead of moving her fingers myself. I've learned my lesson in patience with Samuel, and this tedious phase will pass.
Solomon picks up a toy violin while there and pretends to play right along with them. He has a very nice bow (the bend over kind, not the stick with horsehair kind)! While there, the mom of one of my bridesmaids showed up with a violin! She wanted to find a buyer for it and wondered if our teacher could take a look at it and give his opinion on it. Well, Mr. Cline really tested it and it was very beautiful. Samuel & Shiphrah were too focused on the foosball table in the waiting room to care much, but Solomon was mesmerized! He had the biggest smile on his face and followed Mr. Cline's every move. I anticipate he'll be quite the musician if his anticipation and eagerness to play and his love of singing and hearing music are any indicator.
After that, we went grocery shopping with Daddy. We always spend more when he's with us! He splurges on us, and while I tend to be a tightwad, I'm so glad he's so giving!
Thursday, we milked Molly, Jill & Julie's mom. Everyone in the family loved the milk! Hooray! We also got to spend much of the day with a friend I made in my year of teaching. She has a son Samuel's age and another son Solomon's age. A fun time was had by all! Solomon was even eager to get his swim diaper on! Woohoo!!!
Yesterday was supposed to be my catch-up day. Laundry, ironing, meal planning, cleaning, making cards. I managed to do laundry, iron, and make cards, but the meal planning and cleaning were thrown over for chick planning. Our chicks will arrive in about 2 weeks and I have to figure out what I'm going to do with them. I can't keep them outside--predators and temperature regulation and all. I'm not sure about inside--heating a part of my house for them while cooling the rest of it is not terribly appealing. We will have family visiting then, too. I may have to bite the bullet and keep them in my tub for a couple weeks like my mom did. We joked about her something awful (Chickens in her house??!?!??!) and here we are, probably looking at doing the same thing!
Today we will help my mom finish her fence--just as soon as David rolls out of bed!
