Barn Furniture

Hi, Y'all! Monday was a barn furniture gathering and making day! Chicken Coop Lady wanted to pay me for said coop, but the services of her truck and trailer were far more valuable to me. So, I asked her to pick up some wooden electrical spools. She got 3 from Cumberland Electric! If anyone needs any, I also know that Tri-County Electric (in Lafayette) has many and would love for people to come get them. I could always use more, but I don't have a truck or trailer. Anyhow, the girls have a few more things to play upon. You may notice some new flooring in the barn, too. I got some sweet PDZ (all natural, removes ammonia, helps w/flies, absorbs odors & moisture), lime (haven't used that yet) and wood shavings. I need to get more fly stuff. My mom saw a recipe for some in a Back to Basics book... I may try that in my fly trap before buying more fly attractant at TSC.

The new barn furniture also inspired me to build some nest boxes and roosts for the chickens that will arrive at the end of the month. They won't be able to use them for a bit, but here they are!

In addition to that, today, I built a roosting box for my mom (actually, it was for me, but works better up at her place than in my barn so I gave it to her. It's all her lumber anyway!) and helped her with roofing for her 2nd coop. I don't think I shared pictures of the mineral feeders I built for the boys when they arrive. Here they are. The girls seem to enjoy them!

Finally, a picture of our flock of dinner, I mean chickens. Except that I can't eat them. I will probably keep one or two, but the rest will go.
