Tonight, David and I are going on our first date in over 5 years! That's right, we haven't done that since Samuel was born. We will have a babysitter, and go to dinner and a non-kid-themed-movie! I do believe I have butterflies! See 'em?
OK, Billie, when you go on a first date, you must "dish" about it. Did you have a great time? Did he let you pick the food and the movie? Did he try to hold your hand? Was he a nice gentleman and opened doors and held your chair for you? Do you think he will call and ask you out again? :) :) :) :)
If I knew how I would make myself anonymous for this post, but don't know how to do it! Loved the butterflies!
Right. :) We went to September's Cafe in the Streets of Indian Lake development. I picked that, because I heard that it was nice, a little pricey, but that the staff would split the food for you before bringing it out if you wanted to split an entree. My friend who recommended it to me is from the DC area and is picky about restaurants, so I trusted that this would be a good place.
The food was great! We didn't split an entree; David got a monster burger and a "baked potato on steroids" as the waitress put it. I got the yummiest salad I've had in a long time and a glass of wine. They let you sample wines if you can't make a decision as to which you want. That was nice. I have to say, I've never been in a restaurant with that extensive a wine list (or one that had a $350 bottle of Dom Perignon on it!) and highly recommend the place to any wine connoisseurs out there!
We saw The Dark Knight. David had already seen this on Imax with the men from church. He said it was worth watching it again. I have to say that I'm becoming less of a movie buff, so I think it was good for just being up-to-date on the current culture (kind of like when I taught, I watched wrestling b/c I knew the kids did) but I would have rather gone ballroom dancing or berry picking or something. I prefer to DO something rather than WATCH someone else do something! The movie did have lots of action, an interesting (although predictable in some parts) plot, and a few good lines. The acting was good. Not a sunshiney movie that will leave you feeling happy, though.
I've gotten so used to hopping out of the van to help little ones out of carseats, that I forgot I was supposed to wait and let David open my door! He reminded me. :) Of course, he opened all the other doors--except the bathroom stall ones, which I think is illegal. :) No chairs to hold--the restaurant gave us a booth. We sat next to each other. :) I think he'll ask me out again, and I think our babysitters (The Apple Family, with Hannah as the primary responsible party in this particular job) might be willing to watch the kids again, too! :)
I'm glad you liked the butterflies! I thought they were pretty. :) I'm also glad you didn't make yourself anonymous! :)
