In addition to Friday's fun in the pool, we have had a weekend of great visits! Saturday, we went to the much-anticipated Thomas movie. It was nice. The kids' tickets were $2.75 each and the adult tickets were free! I'm going to have to check out this kid toon movie hour a little more! We enjoyed the Thomas movie, but it lasted longer than anticipated, and had a horrid sushi squad cartoon before it. Oh well.
In the afternoon, Mr. Sullivan brought his wife and son to visit with us a bit while he loaded us down with corn, tomatoes, broccoli, and squash! If you think we have a big garden, you're quite mistaken. I think ours is the size of his small garden and he seems to enjoy working in his gardens even after dark! They have more produce than they can can or put into 3 deep freezers so we were the happy recipients of the overage. Yippee!
Then in the evening, we had a lovely, albeit too short, visit with the Whiteheads over dinner. My mom outdid herself yet again with the meal. I could eat the squash she grilled all day long! Yum!
Today we had another wonderful worship service and a great fellowship meal afterward at a park on Concord St. in Brentwood. (Concord Park?) Anyhow, for someone who has a playground phobia, I was quite at ease. Nice park, nice surroundings, and we were the only group there. It felt safe. The food was great and we don't get to spend nearly enough time with our church friends. While I love our land and never want to move, I do wish we lived closer to church and our church family. Come to think of it, I wish I could move all our friends into one location.... maybe this is what Heaven will be like?
