David's out mowing the lawn, the kiddos are watching him from the deck, our Sabbath meal is in the oven, and crock pot, and countertop... (I'm procrastinating on those stuffed mushrooms!) and thought I'd post a line or thirty-two about our swim lessons today. ;)
There are no pictures. I forgot the camera, but even if I brought it, I don't know that it would be a good idea... So, I'll just chronicle it with words. :) First, we bought goggles for Samuel and Shiphrah. Shiphrah's are pink, of course. Samuel's are red with blue mirrored lenses! He looks a bit like Spiderman in them, so they're a real hit! Solomon had his lesson first, and went in with Daddy. It was primarily fathers in the pool, so it looks like I get out of having to don a swimsuit in public! I was about to have to ask to order one from WholesomeWear.com, since last year's is still too immodest for my tastes... But then my brother in law said I'd drown in one of those. If everyone was pointing at me and saying, "She must have got her swimsuit from Nashville Tent & Awning!" then it really wouldn't be very modest, would it? Anyhow... Solomon cried the entire lesson. It is probably for the best that Daddy was with him, because I wouldn't have made him do anything that made him cry! All the babies in that class were crying, so I gather that they will overcome this? I hope so!
Samuel and Shiphrah were in the same class, directly after Solomon's. Shiphrah cried, but only when it wasn't her turn in the water! Samuel choked down water, since he hasn't learned how to close his nose yet, but didn't shed a tear! He kept looking for me through the observation glass and waving!
After swim lessons, we had a meal at Cheddar's. The food was good, but there was a baseball team that had just won a game dining near us. Let's just say that I was not at all concerned about my children being too loud and disrupting the place! Next time, we'll take a picnic and feed the ducks at the park after class! Following lunch, we went to Samuel's violin lesson. He's really making progress! Then we did a little shopping: grocery, graduation gift... I won't bore you with the details.
Well, the oven is beeping and I really ought to fix those mushrooms before David finishes the lawn! Hope y'all have a blessed Lord's Day and Happy Mother's Day!
