As of late...

We're still celebrating the 12 days of Christmas, so the kiddos make sure Daddy gets up while it's still early so they can open the present or presents of the day. Some days there is one for each of them, some days one for all of them. By now, the boys have a huge arsenal of lightsabers (some really cool ones that spring open from the Apples, and a slew of other ones in various colors from Grandma Robinson) and each day starts with the hum of lightsabers and a fight! Shiphrah has some definite opinions about what her dolls should be wearing and how they should wear whateveritis, and her opinions usually don't agree with mine!

Our vinyl flooring for the bathrooms is scheduled to arrive at the local Lowe's early next week. Then it will be delivered here, allowed to acclimate in our home for at least 3 days, and then get installed along with new toilets. I'm thrilled to get new easy to clean floors and David is thrilled to finally have elongated toilet seats! :) I think this could make my clean up chores easier as well with little boys!

The 2nd doe finally got bred this morning, so today will be my last day of goat sitting and milking. They will go home tonight. I will miss the milk, but not the chore of milking in this cold weather! My does are starting to feel slighted since they don't get as much attention as the newcomers (I don't milk them!), so they will probably be more at ease as well. Tripoli's scab over the hole in his skull has come off from all the rowdy breeding activity, and I am eager to see that close up again. I think one of my does aborted recently (stress?), so will try breeding her again next month so that she kids after me, as opposed to the same time as me!

David has made some progress in our barn and in our library. He's got all the rafters up for our second hay loft and support posts for another door into the barn installed. He's also put in some temporary electrical stuff with the use of some pvc pipe, extension cords, and stuff like that. There is a light in there now, so I can see at night, which is very nice! In the library, he's patched the portion of the wall that had to be cut away, filled in all the holes since we'll re-arrange the pictures, and put a coat of primer/sealer on the walls, the floor, and the new casings for the door and window. Today he hopes to do another coat of primer and our first coat of paint. Following the painting, there are the new moldings to install and the floor to install before we can put our shelving and furniture back and have a functioning library/homeschool room. I look forward to that, but am also enjoying the transformation process. I help where I can, but I just don't have as much get-up-and-go while pregnant and sick. We still need to go to Harbor Freight and get the floor nailer. Hopefully we can get the floor in before the vinyl gets delivered and only have one set of project materials sitting in our hallway!

Moo Mau (grandkids' nickname for David's mom) is supposed to arrive in town today and we look forward to celebrating Christmas with her soon.
