My cousin (Liz) arrived in Nashville on Wednesday evening. They had all planned on leaving Thursday afternoon for Newport News, VA where Liz will be working for the next year or so. Her luggage didn't arrive on time, however, so they stayed an extra day. Liz helped me to retrieve my van from the shop and we enjoyed our time together with the kids and animals and just being family. So now my aunt, uncle, cousin, her daughter (not my niece, but not my second cousin, but the kids' second cousin, right?) are all gone and even with 3 kids, this place is feeling a bit empty. It will also be a while before anyone calls me "Susie" again, and there's something very fun about being called by your childhood name.
We would be leaving for music lessons in about half an hour, except that there are head colds and stomach bugs cropping up here and we don't want to be out and about spreading germs and risking yuky accidents. Instead maybe we'll take a nap.

What is your cousin doing in New Port News? My in-laws live there. Hope things are well with you guys!!

She's in the Coast Guard. She has a training school there for about a year before getting sent on to Hawaii. What an awful duty station, huh? Rough job, but somebody's gotta do it! ;)
