Rather than a lounge-around-the-house weekend, we managed to find plenty to do--apropos for Labor day weekend, I suppose. Saturday, my mom took the plethora of tomatoes that seemed to be multiplying like yeast on my contertops and made oodles of spaghetti sauce. YUM! David bushogged until the tractor was nearly empty of fuel. I helped a friend put up a light fixture... There is a story behind that. I went to help put up SIX fixtures, but alas, we only managed to do one with all the necessary bracing and playing around in an attic and all--and then I made a glitch in the wiring. It works, and the house has yet to burn down, but I think I grounded the switch wire. My calling is not as an electrician, I suppose! :)
Sunday, as usual, we had a wonderful worship service. I absolutely adore my church family and our worship services. It is the highlight of my week--even if I have to go out and change a diaper or discipline a child at the best part of the sermon! :)
After church on Sunday and much of the day yesterday, we helped weed the library at David's school of all the non-fiction books that had not been checked out in the past ten years. The fiction has yet to be done, but the library is far cleaner, still quite full, and there is now room for some new books. You might say we shouldn't have been working on a Sunday, but who can call going through books actual work? That's fun stuff!
I'm still catching up on laundry and of course, the normal barn chores keep us busy as well. Our little chicks are getting to be quite big! Our goats are doing well, and we are eagerly anticipating bringing our 3rd doeling home this coming weekend! It won't be too terribly long before we breed the two does that we have, so I need to start thinking about preparations for that...
Time to begin school for the day! Hope y'all have a great week!
