She's Here!

Hully is here! We had plenty of last minute preparations and other obligations to fulfull yesterday, so it wound up being a very full, tiring, and good day. First, we visited Edward's Feed to get the next couple weeks supply of fresh grain. Then to Lowe's to get the supplies David needed to build a stall in the barn. It's 4'x8', has access to the feeder, and has a sliding door! This will be a great kidding pen when Hully no longer needs it.
After that, we dropped the supplies off at home and rushed to violin and piano lessons. Samuel gets to learn a new song! This means that I get to learn a new song, too. :) May Song, here we come! Shiphrah continues to improve with baby steps on her Twinkles. Solomon wants to play along in the worst way! I have to remember to bring the cardboard violin for him in the future.
Following music lessons, we made a stop at Tractor Supply to get a few things for Hully and her stall. New bucket and bucket hanger, mineral feeder, collar, and syringes for the next round of tetanus vaccines for the herd. Then we made the trek to the far end of Franklin to visit with the Roberts a bit and pick up Hully. We hadn't intended to spend much time visiting, as late as it had become, but a sudden downpour of rain delayed our plans a bit. It was a welcome delay and we had a very enjoyable little visit!
Here she is, taking a rest and chewing her cud! She loves for me to sit in the barn with her. Whenever I leave, she cries for me to come back. When I sit next to the feeder, she just cuddles next to me and eats and eats and eats. David is a little concerned that I will sleep in there with her. I have to admit that I've thought about it! But she needs to get accustomed to her surroundings with out me, too, so I won't be turning into a goat just yet.
Her surroundings do include lots of new things--dogs, chickens, and a barn close to the driveway, so there are car sounds as well. She wasn't so sure about all that in the beginning, but she's adjusting. CinderElla has taken to sleeping right next to her stall in hopes that Hully will accept her. Hully isn't jumping at that one just yet, but in time, she probably will.
