Samuel's a READER!!!

In school today, Samuel had to "read" simple syllables: ma, pa, and ba (pronounced "mah" not "maw"). Last year, the closest he could get was "muh - ah, puh - ah, and buh - ah." Today, he put them together without effort! How exciting! He's also doing simple addition with + and = signs and everything! School is so much FUN!

Billie, working with beginning readers is so fulfilling! I loved watching that growth from August to June as they became readers and the light of knowledge began to shine in their eyes.

While I am happy and thankful for my position at Shafer, I do find myself a little sad when I go into classrooms and remember what I began this journey doing. I spent Friday in some science classrooms watching recycling projects and enjoyed it immensely.

I hope you continue to enjoy what you are doing for years to come!

Hi Selena! :) Working with a little beginning mathematician is loads of fun, too! :)

I know David sometimes misses the classroom, too. Maybe when he retires... :)
