Thank You Notes

I still have two very tardy Thank You notes stuck on my refrigerator door, awaiting addresses on the envelopes. Yet I find myself needing to write many many more notes, and quick!

Yesterday, David's staff had a diaper shower for Shiloh! They are a precious group of people. I enjoy my time with them and wish I got the opportunity for that more often. Since it is a middle school, and David has so much more time at home, I don't make the effort to go to the school nearly as much as I did when he was at the high school and I *had* to go if I wanted to see him. So, I get more of my husband, which is really wonderful, but I feel generally more out of touch with his co-workers. Yesterday was very nice. I wish I could put a few more faces with names--I have a bit of a disconnect there, unfortunately.

So, we now have enough diapers for an entire year, probably! My mom had already stocked up on the larger sizes, and yesterday we gained an enormous amount of all the smaller sizes! Scads of wipes, some very cute clothes, toys, and storage boxes were also among the gifts. Gift cards--my goodness! I will be able to replace all the things I've loaned out or that have deteriorated since Solomon was a baby. The Shafer staff is really too kind! So, I must get on those notes!

Jill, our doe who was due to kid yesterday, is still keeping those babies snug and warm inside her. I was glad she didn't decide to pop while I was away, but I'm ready to see them already! (I'm ready to see Shiloh, too--and my feet, for that matter--but it isn't time...)

Today, Samuel and I cleaned up the hay lofts, making room for the new crop of hay we'll need to buy for the coming year. He is such a huge help! He helps with the rest of the barn chores as well, with his primary tasks being that of egg collector and water-boy! Maybe I can get Shiphrah to do his tasks and teach him to milk this year...

Spring Break begins for us this weekend, and I look forward to having David around more! It would be nice if we could spend it just relaxing and enjoying one another's company, but we have lots of things to tend to here. Our library needs to be finished and the house put back in order, and that is the main item on the agenda. If we could build some raised beds for the kitchen garden and do a little work in our bathroom, that would be nice, too. I'm not going to get overly ambitious, though, since I'm not much help in this very pregnant state. I don't want to wear David out so that he looks forward to going back to work so that he can rest! :) (I'm afraid I do that too him all too often!)
