Sunny Sunday

Since the kiddos and I are still sick, we stayed home today while David went to church. When I did barn chores, I noticed that the weather outside was beautiful and thought that some sunshine and fresh air would do us some good. So, we got dressed and headed out to make some Vitamin D and breathe air that we hadn't infected. :)

I had to laugh, because one of my does, who is due to kid in early April, is bearing a striking resemblence to me right about now! I won't go into all the bodily changes she's experiencing due to her pregnancy, but it is amazing that humans and goats are not all that dissimilar. Another thing that made me chuckle a bit was that neither of us could walk very fast and after walking across the field, we were both panting! Sometimes, when I'm pregnant, I feel like a bum because I can't do all the things that I normally can. It was comforting, in a sick sort of way I suppose, that my dear doe is enduring the same thing! So, after our little outing, we both lounged around on electrical spools in the barn catching our breath!

The pregnant does are especially cuddly right about now, too. That was nice. Unfortunately, Cinderella is cuddly also. That wouldn't be so bad, but she got skunked last night. Peeyeww!

Other happenings of note... we discovered that now the hens are hiding eggs in the hay loft! Samuel's job is going to be to climb up there and retrieve them for me. We will order some fake eggs to try and get them to lay in the nest boxes. Also, we may have yet another new barn design. I suppose if we aren't building it this year, it can take on multiple changes!

I'm being summoned to go see a disaster in my room... uh oh! Hope y'all had a great sunny Sunday!
