If you've ever experienced morning sickness, the title of this post will make perfect sense to you. If not, well, I'll explain.
Sea Bands are these dorky looking wrist bands with protruding buttons that poke painfully into your Nei Kuan accupressure point in your wrist. Three fingers from the crease of your hand and in between the two major tendons, to be exact. After a while, the pain subsides and along with it, so does morning sickness. It's not perfect, but so far just as effective as Phenergan with out the side effect of making me so tired I want to cry if I have to stay awake one second longer! Only problem is they're $9.95 plus shipping (not cheap) and you can only wash them 5 times, according to the directions. I'll either be washing them more often, or will have very stinky wrists by Christmas! ...or I will quit being a cheapskate and break down and buy more. :)
Anyhow, I also have a perscription for phenergan for bedtime, when I want to take the bands off and not be nauseous... which incidentally helps with pregnancy insomnia!
Oh, the conveniences of medical technology, both modern and ancient! This stage of pregnancy typically makes me want to hibernate for a couple months, but these handy dandy sea bands sure do make life more comfortable!

I never really had morning sickness, but I've heard recently that a few studies were done on ginger (the herb/spice) and it was found to be as effective as some prescriptions in managing morning sickness. Just a little fyi.....(which you probably already knew if you've endured morning sickness a few times). Hope you get through it!

Ginger never helped me much. And all the myriad of food recommendations--they've never helped much, either. I think I must have tried every one of them! Chiropractic, laser therapy, phenergan, zofran... all seem to pale in comparison to these bands for me.
I hope I'm not singing a different tune in a couple weeks, but so far, these are great!
