We went to the doctor's office today and saw pictures of the baby. I have some I can post, but it will have to wait until after I get a nap! There is only one baby (smile) and the baby is healthy. It is showing about 9 days older than my calculations, but that's been typical of every child I've had thus far. We got to see the heart beat, and they took some of my blood for all the normal tests. It was a good visit, but like I said, it's naptime for mommy right now.....zzzzzzzzzzzz

Yea, Billie! Yes, Dr. Trabue delivered Andrew and Henry, and we love him...He doesn't have the ooey gooey pat-you-on-the-back bedside manner that my drs. in B'ham had, but we really, really like him, b/c we really, really trust him. We just feel like he has so much wisdom and experience. I am convinced that your choice of dr. can influence whether or not you have a c-section or not. If it had been up to the nurses that day, I know Henry would have been a c-section baby, and evidently if I had had another dr. on that hall that day, b/c I was one of only two out of nine deliveries that wasn't a c-section that day. Anyways, every prediction he made about the baby, ultrasounds, induction, and delivery were spot on, and I love his incredible calm throughout the whole process.
Hope you get that nap today!
That's what I needed to hear! He definitely didn't come across as ooey gooey, but he also comes across as someone who isn't afraid to tell me what he thinks. I appreciate that...as opposed to the type of doctor that says, "Mmmm Hmmm.... Ahhh.... Yes...." but never says what he's thinking! :) The most recent visit was with his daughter, and I like her a lot.
Wendy said he is the doctor that referred her to Heather (our midwife) in the first place, so I thought he'd at least be a safe bet for a doctor that didn't think I was totally nuts for having a few at home before. :) It's good to hear such a good review of him! :) I got that nap, but never did get the pictures up... or much else done for the next day and a half. The trip to the dr.'s office wiped me out!

Yes, he's great, and you probably already know this, but he has seven kids(two left at home), and they have been homeschooled until 9th grade, when they are put in FCS. He also is a member of Parish, and is reformed.
I knew some of that, but not all of it! I had a suspicion that he was reformed when we sat in his office by all the stuff on his walls. :) How neat! He also had a Norwich (the school in Vermont that David was doing the online MMH through) coffee cup on his desk... :)
FCS, huh? I think I remember hearing that someone else was thinking of sending their children there... I don't know a whole lot about it, but they have an incredible facility.
