Ramblings

As I try my best to stay awake so the kiddos aren't left on their own, I often search the web. Reading a book in this state will surely put me to sleep and same probaby goes for a movie, but I can jump around to various websites when I get droopy eyed and perk up just a little. I've noticed that many of my favorite sites and blogs aren't being updated as much as I'd like... I'm probably too needy right now! I haven't updated much either, so here we are. Updating, with little to say but, "It sure is getting cold out!"

Daddy and the boys are out measuring the land for barn post placement and fencing needs. He's gearing up to build barn #2! Shiphrah is next to me coloring her next masterpiece, and probably some furniture along with it.

I got some new feed for the bucks today... well, it came in from when I ordered it, and David picked it up for me. I've been giving them a feed w/decoquinate in it to help keep their coccidia numbers down, but with that, I still have to routinely give other coccidia medication. So the new feed has rumensin in it. This kills coccidia in all stages of its life cycle, so hopefully it will help more.

The does seem to be doing quite well without any additional coccidia medication, so they're staying on their current grains and will be switched to milkstand grains (less additives) in the Spring perhaps.

The chickens are all doing well and growing. Noah has a teddy bear just her size to cuddle with at night and a few rubber bath tub duckies to talk to. The other day, I saw her sitting nose to nose with one. You could tell she was bored with her poor conversational partner. Can't say as I blame her.

Solomon is starting to talk a little more--still in the one word at a time category, but his repertoire is expanding. This is a fun stage.

Well, it looks like everyone is back in and right now seems like as good a time as any to get everyone some hot cocoa and enjoy one another's company!
