Samuel read his first book!

Okay, he looks pretty grouchy here with that scowl and his dirty (used as a napkin at lunch time) t-shirt! But that's only because Shiphrah wanted in his picture and he didn't want her stealing his thunder! Friday, we had some 3 letter words to read, and Samuel was MOST excited about them! He loves getting a chance to read now! After finishing those words, he said, "I could probably read that book about Pan now." (I read it to him a while back, and he recognized the words.) Even though it is about 9 lessons away, I decided to let him have a crack at it. He got through half the book and said, "This is hard. Maybe I'll stop there." I told him that was okay because he shouldn't be reading it for another couple of weeks and he did a great job making it as far as he had. Apparently that encouraged him to continue, and he finished the book! That night, he read it for Daddy and Daddy took this picture. He's very excited that by the time Shiloh can ask him to read her a story, he should be able to read to her!
