Buckless

Yesterday, beloved Jarlath found a new home. He will be residing with a herd of incredibly nice Boer goats at Dixieland Ranch in Lebanon, TN. The Griffiths are looking to add some more milk into their line of recorded grades, and are also using some dairy does as recipient does for some of their phenomenal ET (embryo transfer) Boer does. The marriage of technology and farming has some pretty incredible results, I'd say! I'm tickled that our little old fashioned farm had something to offer such a progressive and prestigious local ranch!

Today, Tripoli is going to make his trek to Bulletcreek Ranch in Reliance, TN. The Farrises have been looking to add some Kastdemur genetics to their Price O The Field lines, and Tripoli will make a great cross for them with the Kastdemur top and POTF bottom to his pedigree. He misses Jarlath, so it works out very well that he'll get to have lots of buddies, and a job to do again soon! In exchange for Tripoli, the Farrises will be providing the beginnings of a Stoney Heights Farm herd of Boers in the spring! I have admired the Bulletcreek Boer herd from afar for quite some time, and am absolutley thrilled with this addition to our farm!

So, until the Alpine herd arrives from Idaho later this week, we will be buckless! I can't say that I'm at all upset about that, though! Bucks are not my favorite thing in the world. :)

Today, our Alpines will be picked up in Idaho and begin their trek here. This has been a long time in the making, and I eagerly await their arrival! Yes, even the bucks. :)

I'm glad you found good homes for your bucks. And I love the pictures of your "field trip" in the woods! :)

Yes, Karen, I'm pleased, too. Would have been a whole lot easier if your husband thought you could have used another one, but it worked out. ;) We love our woods!
