Weekly Ramble

Not much else is new around here since I last wrote. Shiphrah has had this really bad head cold all week. Lots of snot and lots of crankiness! Solomon acted like he was going to get it, but appears to be doing fine. Samuel's rash is a little less angry.

I spent a couple of days in bed and wondered if that meant that the birth would be near. Night time contractions had me thinking so... but it seems that I was just so tired fighting off whatever Shiphrah has and that it will be a while.

David took a day off to be home with me, which was really nice. He wound up doing lots of yard work, but had Samuel stay in the house on "Mommy Watch" in case I needed him. I love a freshly mowed yard! It makes the whole outdoors look so much more cheerful! David has also completed a really nice new gate for me between the doe barn and the feed room so that the chickens don't get in and lay eggs in the hay loft. They seem to have found a way in, but I'm fairly certain I've discovered it and put a make-shift end to that for now. Now I just need to get someone to crawl through the hay loft in search of eggs so that any there don't rot!

My mom took the day off yesterday to help me, but she must have got bored waiting for me to need help with something because she wound up grading papers, visiting the neighbor, checking on her garden, and working on a rooster pen so that her hens won't be missing quite so many feathers, among other things.

There was to be a bake sale this weekend, so I made about 13 dozen cookies last night. The bake sale got cancelled (switcharoo of store managers, our spot given to someone else...) so now my family is most excited to have oodles upon oodles of cookies to eat!

That's about it here for the week. A nap sounds really good right about now.
