I thought I'd share a few more photos of what is going on around here. David is making a good deal of progress on the chicken coop. Unfortunately, the baby goats were all interested in the commotion, came over to check things out, and while they were there, they did something to David's tractor. It won't start and the battery is fine, so... ??? A call to Kubota this morning is in order!
I've been talking about these doors we've installed... There is painting yet to be done, but here's the back door, well, part of it. My utility room is too small to get a good photo of all of it, and if I took it from outside, you coudn't see the nifty slide thingy for opening, closing, and twisting the little blinds inside the window. :)
And our front door... yes, more painting. When I was a little girl, we had a front door that had leaded glass windows in it. I always loved that door, and this reminds me a bit of that. I also love those little storybook cottage doors with the arched top. Not very practical to put one of those in our house, but I like the effect of the arched window here. David is enamored with the energy savings and how there isn't a huge burst of heat when you walk by our front door any more. I guess I like that, too. :) It is an adjustment to have light coming through the door that wasn't there before (despite the gaping hole from an improperly installed door from the factory!) We keep going over to shut the door only to realize that it is already shut! After buying the door, we realized that the Apples have the wood version of this very same door with all the sidelights and header around it. I recently discovered that some other friends have it, too. Kind of neat, anyway. There is a storm door on the outside of our front door now, too. I didn't get a photo...
Getting the doors out of our bedroom prompted me to do a bit of rearranging in there. Once I had the furniture moved, there was a huge space over our bed that needed *something*. I've always loved this afghan and thought that rather than storing it in a bag in the closet, maybe it could be used. A $20 curtain rod and voila! Cheap decorating solution. The photo is dark because Shiloh is still sleeping in there. :) Maybe I'll get a better one when everyone is awake and the bed is made. :)
So that's it for now. The bathroom is ready for sanding and we're looking at paint colors. I'm also looking forward to finally putting up the vanity mirror that I found on Gallatin Freecycle!
