Makeshift Clothesline

This is that clothesline I mentioned in my last post. Because I had mentioned last summer that I want to get a clothesline so I don't have to run the dryer in the heat, my mom went out and bought line and clothespins. I don't have T posts up for the line to be strung upon (can't figure out where I want it!) so I ran the line across our deck! Temporarily, of course. It got the job done.

Billie, I used my line religiously when I was a stay-at-home mom. I miss the fresh smell but just don't have time to get them out there anymore.

We took down one t-pole and use the other for bird feeders. Recycling at its best!

Even with our water filter, the clothes are still crunchy on the line. I wound up rewashing them and drying them in the dryer. How did you get your line-dried clothes soft?

Billie, I didn't!

After taking items off the line, I put everything (especially towels) in the dryer for about 10 minutes to fluff them. Clothes were either dryer fluffed or ironed using spray starch.

Line drying might have a good smell but it isn't convenient nor time saving.
