This is a portion of the fencing in our woods. We still have some T posts to put between the trees, and to close some gaps at the bottom that we couldn't escape creating due to the lay of the land. However, all the fencing above the ridge is stretched and in place, which was a major undertaking. We've put up over 1000 feet of fencing thus far.
This is just a view of the inside of the new goat pen. I'm very excited about all the leaves they will have to eat and the rocks they will have to climb upon! It doesn't look like a lot here. We still have't finished leafing out yet! Come mid-summer, the undergrowth gets really thick!
My camera lied and told me it got another shot through the woods of our fencing where David had cleared a nice path for the tractor and we put in scads of T posts. Cest la vie! You just might have to visit to see it! ;)
My final photo for the day is of the bottom corner of the pen. We got all the rest of the posts in and have one more goat panel and a few gates to purchase, and then when I move the Boers out of quarantine, we'll use the 2 goat panels from that pen to complete this one. Then, the new chicken coop will be built where the current quarantine pen is located and a new quarantine/breeding pen (part of my old buck pen) will go in. Much done, but much yet to do! Isabella is due to kid in 11 days. Two weeks after that, I have a new buck (yes, another one--I'm crazy! :) coming, and not long after, Uncle Ned will be leaving for his new home. One of these days, I might get some things planted, but we will see! We've got feed mill runs scheduled for today along with school, music practice, laundry, ironing... Better get crackin'!

Congratulations on your progress with fencing through the woods. It's a huge job, I know. We have to make paddocks in the woods still, but with our perimeter fencing up, our momma goats and this year's crop of kids get to browse through the trees daily now. It's great fun to watch them.
I enjoy your blog. Write on!

Perimeter fencing... I'm envious! At one point, my desire was to do that before this pen, but that also meant fencing around house, garden, etc. One thing at a time, huh? Thank you!
