Aside from the fact that I spend my days with a house full of knights, princesses, and superheros, and a barn full of critters, it has been a fairly uneventful week. Maybe not. I think I'm just living under a bit of a cloud right now, but that's another story. We've done school, but slacked off on music practice because our lessons this week have been cancelled due to the health of the instructor's father. I have difficulty getting motivated with music, because practice is often so frustrating! No lessons all too often means no practice, I'm afraid. I've done laundry and ironed but have more ironing to do. David got new school clothes for the first time since moving to Shafer, and he's way past due! I'm happy to have new shirts to iron! I took a few things to Goodwill and have a few more to take. I dropped off more clothes at the local consignment store and got more store credit. I spent all my old store credit and got the kids some clothes and a new-to-us stroller for Shiloh. I look forward to going back over the tax-free weekend to hopefully buy the kiddos winter coats! I taught Samuel and Shiphrah how to sew with a needle and thread. Samuel made a quiver for his stick arrows, and Shiphrah worked on a doll dress. I need to finish mending the dress Shiphrah wore Sunday--her Strasburg Christmas present that she's only worn twice, and she managed to rip out the entire hem! I need to pack playclothes on Sundays just in case we are unexpectedly invited for lunch somewhere! We're having dinner guests tomorrow, so I need to clean house and figure out what I'm going to cook. Maybe we'll run up to the Mennonite shops for produce and bread. My breadmaker bread is just too heavy. I will be happy when we get the oven working again someday!
It has been a bit of an adjustment not having David around so much now that he's back at school, but we're falling into some routines. David has been busily finishing up student schedules and getting the building ready for teachers. I think that just about the entire school has been repainted now, except for door and window frames. It's looking really nice! There were classrooms at the end of his halls that hadn't been walled in, but two of those were completed this summer, which means that they can now hold classes rather than junk!
