A few posts ago, I included a picture of pretty rock work that was added to the sides of our bridge to keep the bridge from washing out during a heavy rain. We never anticipated flooding! Nashville experienced record rainfall (since recorded history) and there are many faring far worse than we. The whole region has been declared a federal disaster area. Thankfully, we are on a hill and if the water ever came near our doorstep, most folks would do well to own an ark. Our bridge, however, didn't stand up so well. Rather the land on the sides of our bridge didn't stand up so well. It is somewhere downstream. While David and my mom are brave enough to cross the bridge, I'd rather not! I've parked across the street at the church and will drive over it again when it is fixed! It may be a while...
